Yet Another Horror Movie Remake: The Omen
If it seems to you that Hollywood has been churning out an awful lot of remakes lately, well, I don’t think you’re imagining it. Perhaps the most obvious indicator of the current remake frenzy is the huge number of horror movie remakes that have just come out, or are coming down the pipe. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, Dawn of the Dead, The Ring, The Grudge, Dark Water, The Fog, Evil Dead… the list goes on. But now they’ve gone too far. Add to that list a remake of Richard Donner’s 1976 classic “The Omen”, this time with John Moore at the helm. “Who?” you ask. The guy who directed Behind Enemy Lines and Flight of the Phoenix. What a great idea. The Omen is one of those movies that is still genuinely creepy to this day and I can’t wait to see them regurgitate and/or maim it. Are there even any classic horror movies left that haven’t been remade or sequelized yet?
