Heavy Metal Parking Lot Coming To DVD
After years of being distributed through bootlegs and poor quality VHS dubs, the indie cult classic that single-handedly defined an era of hairspray and headbanging is finally getting a proper DVD release. Heavy Metal Parking Lot, the documentary by John Heyn and Jeff Krulik, finds the filmmakers simply interviewing fans outside a Judas Priest concert in 1986. Hilarity ensues. The DVD release promises over 3 hours of exclusive content including the sequel “Neil Diamond Parking Lot”, audio commentary from the directors, outtakes, “Dub-o-vision” (watch a 10th generation VHS copy), and alumni reunions. The actual release date has not been set, but the official site says it will be “available soon”. Incidentally, HMPL also spawned a reality TV series on Trio called “Parking Lot” that you can stream online. Visit the official site below for more info.

Posted by Goon on June 9th, 2005I wonder if that will be on the DVD as well… it lists “sequels” as one of the bonus features but doesn’t specify which ones. The only one I knew about was the Neil Diamond one.
