Trailer for Guy Ritchie’s “Revolver” Online Now
If you dislike the films of director Guy Ritchie, I’m pretty sure this movie is not going to be the one to change your mind. His latest effort, Revolver, is yet another British gangster flick starring Jason Statham (looking quite odd with long hair and a beard). Statham plays a gambler named Jack Green who takes on crime boss Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta) and wins. Unfortunately, crime lords don’t take kindly to losing, so Macha sends out some goons to rub ‘im out. I’m sure you can figure out the rest of the plot. A release date has not been set, but check out the “world exclusive” trailer for Revolver linked below.

do people hate Guy Ritchie because he rips people off, or they find his movies genuinely bad?
I actually quite like “Lock Stock” and “Snatch” but I dont proclaim them as innovative genius or anything.

Posted by JAY C on May 26th, 2005I think the problem with Ritchie is that he’s not as clever as he thinks he is. Much like Tarantino, he’s way too much style over substance… of course, people don’t hate Tarantino for it, I assume because he’s earned the right to have an ego and do whatever the hell he wants in a movie.
Posted by Sean on May 27th, 2005I dont give a shit about the style, I just think the movies are pretty funny with a lot of one liners and a good soundtrack… both LS&2SB and Snatch are in the imdb’s top 250, I’ve never really heard Ritchie bashing until Swept Away came out.
Posted by Goon on May 27th, 2005I will say this though, after I saw Snatch, even though I liked it, I immediately thought “he needs to branch out and try some other types of movies”
looks like Swept Away scared the shit out of him from doing that again.
Posted by Goon on May 27th, 2005I highly doubt Swept Away was entirely Ritchie’s brainchild, Madonna’s clearly got his balls in a vice. No-one in their right mind would cast her in a movie, let alone a leading role.
I would venture a guess that he was forced against his will into directing this gem by his diva wife.
Posted by danimal on May 29th, 2005If he were to release 10 movies like LS&2SB & Snatch, I would buy every single one of them. I think they were great movies. Like Goon says, they’re funny as hell and great entertainment.
