The Sad Life of an E3 Booth Babe

Perhaps one of the most unsettling things about the annual E3 video game show in L.A. is the common practice of hiring “booth babes” to draw attention to products. I’m not sure who I feel more sorry for… the struggling Hollywood hopefuls who don ridiculous costumes in order to hawk video games and pose for pictures with sweaty fanboys, or the video game geeks who gawk over these women and somehow believe that girls like this might actually play games too. While some video game publishers shun this type of promotion and try to sell games based on their merit alone, they inevitably get lost in the shuffle. This year’s E3 was no different, and at various places around the web you can find overwhelming galleries of booth babe photos that are titillating, absurd and sometimes downright pathetic. Click below to check out GameGal’s annual Hall of Shame, and also check out galleries from G4TV, Gamers Hell, The Tech Zone and of course, the official E3 Booth Babe site, E3Girls.com (where you can also order a Booth Babe DVD).
