Check Out Kurt Russell in the Superhero Comedy “Sky High”
Superhero spoofs are definitely getting to be a dime a dozen nowadays, but here’s a movie that combines elements of Spy Kids, Harry Potter, The Incredibles and X-Men into something that looks unique. “Sky High” is the story of Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano), son of superheroes The Commander (Kurt Russell) and Jetstream (Kelly Preston). He is sent away to a high school for super-powered kids, but finds himself socially rejected because of the fact that he has no superpowers. But when an evil villain threatens the school and his family, Will steps up and unleashes the hidden powers within. Directed by Mike Mitchell (Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Surviving Christmas), and co-starring Bruce Campbell as the school coach, I have to admit this will probably be lame. But this just seems like a hilarious role for Kurt Russell. Sky High hits theatres on July 29th.
