X-Box 360 Unveiled, Perfect Dark Zero Confirmed

If you didn’t happen to catch Microsoft’s half-hour “infomercial” for the X-Box 360 last night, well, you didn’t miss much. Very little details were actually provided during the TV special, and we still have no concrete technical specs. However, what we did get was glowing reviews from tons of celebrities, which makes the next X-Box extremely cool. It was a little bit contrived, as it felt like all of these celebs were just reciting lines fed to them by Bill Gates himself. The system’s rumoured concave design and silver finish proved to be accurate (for a look at the system and its controller, visit www.xbox360.com). The other big announcement was that Perfect Dark Zero is indeed going to be a launch title for the system. After letting developer Rare basically sit this whole generation out, they should have a pretty killer game ready to go by the time the X-Box 360 launch rolls around (no specific date given for that yet either). Other games that were briefly shown off include Quake 4, Project Gotham Racing 3, Gears Of War, Call of Duty 2, and Tony Hawk’s new game American Wasteland, which will be just one seamless world. All X-Box 360 games will be available in high-def, and in keeping with the system’s theme of customization, the face plate for the system will be interchangeable.
