As the American remake of The Office currently airs on NBC to fairly decent critical reviews, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the duo behind the original BBC series, are preparing for their next original project. Coming this summer to BBC Two is the 6-episode first season of their new series “Extras”, which stars Gervais as a struggling actor named Andy Millman and Merchant as his agent. The show will co-star Ashley Jensen as fellow actor Maggie Jacobs, and will feature guest stars every week including the likes of Patrick Stewart, Samuel L Jackson and Ben Stiller.
