The 80’s cartoon barrage continues, and finally we have confirmation of another all time classic coming to DVD… Thundercats! Warner Home Video is planning the Thundercats: Season 1, Volume 1 DVD set for an August 9th release date. This package will include the first 33 episodes from season 1, with Volume 2 to complete the second half of the season sometime in the fall. The set also includes a 7 minute featurette entitled “Feel the Magic, Hear the Roar: ThunderCats Fans Speak Out” that will feature interviews with loyal geeks such as Wil Wheaton of Star Trek:TNG (and WilWheaton.net) fame. Suggested retail price will be $64.92 USD. This news is kind of ironic as I was about to post something about the Thundercats – A New Beginning DVD I recently spotted on Amazon.com. Of course, it’s almost certainly a bootleg, and now with this stellar release planned I can see no reason why anyone would ever want to purchase it.
