If you’ve played any Lucasarts adventure games over the years, odds are you’ve played a Tim Schafer game. His credits include some of the all-time classics, including Maniac Mansion 2: Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, and Grim Fandango. Unfortunately, with the graphic adventure genre all but obsolete, his game design skills have not been in demand as of late, so he decided to take many of the Grim Fandango development team members and form Double Fine Productions. Their first game is now finally about to be released, and it is called “Psychonauts”. It is about a group of operatives with psychic powers, and one such operative named Raz who has the ability to take on deranged enemies by entering their minds and digging through their nightmares and inner demons. The game looks to have a unique visual style similar to Grim Fandango, and it is due on the PC and X-Box on April 19th (a PS2 version is coming in June).
