Listen To The New Reggie And The Full Effect Album

Is it so much to ask for a band to release more than one or two good albums anymore? Get Up Kids keyboardist and Coalesce drummer James DeWees decided a few years ago that he needed another band through which to channel all his creative goofiness. Thus, his alter-ego Reggie was born, frontman for his band Reggie And The Full Effect. The first album that he released was an instant classic, but slowly over time the project became more of a joke and less about writing good music. 2003’s “Under The Tray” contained all of one or two decent songs in my opinion, and on March 29th 2005 he released a 4th album “Songs Not To Get Married To”. I was almost scared to give it a listen, but MTVU had a preview of the entire album online and I simply could not resist. Reggie is now trying to capitalize on two big trends in music at once, metallic hardcore and cheesy pop-punk — and the combination doesn’t go over so well. I would highly recommend the “try before you buy” policy with this record, so click below to give it a listen.
