Halo 2 Expansion Pack On The Way
There’s been rumours about this all month but I was waiting to hear the official word before I posted anything. So now here’s the deal, straight from Bungie’s website… They will be rolling out a Halo 2 expansion pack over the next few months with some of it being free and some of it being premium paid content. Unfortunately, there are no new single-player missions included; the expansion consists only of multiplayer maps. In late April they will release 2 free maps online via X-Box Live and 2 paid maps ($5.99 U.S.). Then on June 28th, 5 more maps will be available for purchase online ($11.99 U.S.). On the same day, the full Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack will be available in retail stores at a SRP of $19.99 U.S. The retail package will feature all 9 maps plus all the patches from X-Box Live since Halo 2 was released, a documentary on the making of the new maps that includes strategy tips, and an animated short that fills in part of Halo 2’s single-player story in New Mombasa. Personally I’m a little ticked off that X-Box Live subscribers won’t simply get all the maps for free. What do other people think? For more details on the maps themselves, check out the official Microsoft press release.

I don’t care about single player anyway, I love the ending to halo 2, I just want new multi-player maps, because I don’t have X-BOX LIVE!
Long Live Halo 2!
