V For Vendetta Site Launches, Press Conference Clips Online
The wheels are officially in motion for the feature film adaption of Alan Moore’s classic dystopian graphic novel V For Vendetta, which has started production in Berlin. Long rumoured to be the next Wachowski Brothers project, it turns out that they have written the screenplay for the movie but opted to turn the directorial reins over to former Matrix and Star Wars assistant director James McTeigue. James Purefoy (A Knight’s Tale, Resident Evil) plays the role of V, the mysterious freedom fighter and prankster — which is an interesting role considering that his face will be covered by a mask for the entire film. At least his voice sounds perfect for the part. Natalie Portman plays Evey Hammond, a young girl taken in by V. The official website for the movie has recently been launched, and now features video clips from a press conference with McTeigue, Portman, Purefoy and producer Joel Silver. Check it out at the link below.
