Jet Li’s latest North America film “Unleashed” (aka Danny The Dog) has finished production and will hit theatres in a couple of months. Apple recently posted a Quicktime trailer for the movie and it looks to deliver all kinds of unintentional hilarity if you ask me. You see, Jet Li plays a slave who was raised like an animal to be a lethal killing machine, making him a grown man who possesses the mind of a young child. And yes, the clever title comes from the fact that he actually wears a collar and leash. Coming from director Louis Leterrier (The Transporter) and writer/producer Luc Besson, you can assume that the movie will at least have some high-energy action scenes… except that the trailer doesn’t show any of them. The movie also co-stars Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman (I wonder why they didn’t advertise that little tidbit) as the kindly old man who helps him. I’m sorry but does anyone else find this hard to take seriously? Unleashed is scheduled for a May 13th theatrical release.
