Dinosaur Jr. To Reunite For Festival Dates
If there’s one thing that big summer festivals are good for, it is reuniting classic bands from the past. It appears that Dinosaur Jr. are the next influential band to patch up their differences in order to cash in… uh, I mean, give it another try for their fans. J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph (their drummer’s name was Murph?) will be playing at Fuji Rock in Japan in July and then the Download festival in Britain. There is also speculation that they will play SXSW although there is no official confirmation of that yet. The reunion comes on the heels of deluxe re-releases of their first 3 albums “Dinosaur,” “You’re Living All Over Me” and “Bug” on Merge Records. They have not indicated if they will be recording a new album but I guess it will depend on how well this reunion goes over. So who will the next big 90’s band to get back together? Pearl Jam? Oh wait, they never did break up. Man, they’re missing out, these reunions are like money in the bank.

Oh, we’ll see how it goes. It’s amazing they are actually on speaking terms, considering the past. But recording a new album? That would be going a little too far, I guess. Mind you, nothing’s been heard from Murph yet. At all.
