Does everyone remember I Am Spoonbender? This avante-garde band received a lot of attention for their debut album “Sender/Receiver” on Mint Records, but then slowly faded out of the public eye for a long while. The last EP they released, “Shown Actual Size” was supposed to hold people over for their upcoming masterwork, “Hidden Persuaders”, but that was in 2002 and a new full-length album still has yet to emerge. The good news is, they have finally given some indication that Hidden Persuaders is on the way, as the band has posted a video from the album on their website this week. The song is called “The Drug Companies Did A Good Job” and the video consists of live footage from shows they’ve played over the last couple of years. I’ve gotta say, not many bands can rival their live performances, so check it out. There is still no official word on when the album will hit stores, but keep your ears to the ground as it should be coming soon.
