Clone High to DVD
Nelvana and Teletoon are joining together to release some Canadian animated shows on DVD, starting April 4th.
Among the first round is the usual crap that NO ONE wants to see, much less own (ie “Tales from the Cryptkeeper”), but behold, what’s that? Why, it’s CLONE HIGH, canned after only 13 episodes and loved in cult-fashion by many as the funniest cartoon show since Family Guy.
I guess I can toss the bootleg DVD I got on eBay last year….
Life is good.

CLONE HIGH was so damn funny. I have a decent DVD bootleg that some fan put together but the audio is either too loud or non-existent on some players so I think I may have to get this. With a legit copy I’ll have an easier time trying to convince some of my friends that this show is way better than Undergrads.
Posted by Nuno on February 1st, 2005I saw the Undergrads DVD in Toronto… its…. 46.99
what the fuck
Posted by Goon on February 1st, 2005Amazon.com has it for $26.96 US. With the current exchange that’s not too bad.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006IGVK/qid%3D1107288323/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr_11_1/002-8220364-1529620
They used to have it at Future Shop. It’s still listed on their website for $30.99 but it says “Taking orders: Will ship when available”, which means they are probably out of stock.
Posted by Sean on February 1st, 2005Yowch, that Undergrads DVD works out to like $4 an episode. It would be a better value (and better idea) to get one of the Batman: TAS volumes which collects 28 episodes for about the same price.
Posted by Batpimp on February 1st, 2005jesus christ, Clone High can’t even be compared to fucking Undergrads.
Undergrads can’t make me laugh till i scream. Undergrads didn’t have a motherfucking rock opera episode starring Jack Black. Undergrads sure as hell didn’t have a robotic Mr.Belvedere.
I bet the regected parts of Clone High episodes are still funnier than fucking Undergrads. There are probably episodes of ‘Wings’ and ‘Coach’ that are funnier than all 12 episodes of Undergrads put together.
Oh but there was that one guy who swore all the time, wow, how subversive!
Undergrads?!……fuck. Now I’m pissed.
Posted by manic panda on February 1st, 2005I like Undergrads. A lot of the characters are one-trick ponies but I think the voices are great (all done by the creator mostly too) and I’m not ashamed to say that it makes me laugh. The thing about it is, it’s like Beavis & Butthead… everyone knows people who are exactly like the characters.
I haven’t seen enough of Clone High to comment but it definitely seemed more creative than Undergrads. You could say Undergrads is more mainstream but then again, it’s trendy in cartoons to just be as wacky as possible now isn’t it?
Posted by Sean on February 1st, 2005I like Undergrads well enough, just not 46.99 worth of like.
It doesnt have as many ‘moments’ as Clone High does. Clone High has shitloads of lines, scenes, and characters.. lots of repeat value and some of the best use of guest stars I’ve ever seen in cartoons… the Tom Green episode alone beats anything the Simpsons have done with guest stars in around 8 years.
Posted by Goon on February 1st, 2005And who can forget Joe Flaherty as Abe’s foster-father? He was even drawn to look like Joe Flaherty!
Posted by Nuno on February 1st, 2005“now I may be blind…”
and Abe is voiced by Will Forte, currently one of only 2 funny cast members on SNL
Posted by Goon on February 2nd, 2005hola a todos q mierda dicen no les entiendo nada putos chau!
