Dead Like Me Expires After Season 2
Showtime TV announced this week that their quirky dark comedy series Dead Like Me, about a group of grim reapers trying to make ends meet in the afterlife, will not be renewed for a third season. Apparently ratings for the show were somewhat weak, although the season 1 DVD set sold quite well. The thing that makes the cancellation a little harder to swallow is the fact that Showtime will reportedly be replacing Dead Like Me with a series based on the Barbershop movies. (Without any of the talent from those movies mind you.) Who knows what they’re thinking. The producers of Dead Like Me have indicated that they may shop the show around to other networks like the Sci Fi Channel. However, it could be that the show’s time was simply up.

I, persopnally, think it was a stupid idea for them to cancel the show without even really ending it, especially just to make room for a show that might or might not be good. However, I have read that a final decision will not be made until the end of Jan, so there’s still hope yet.
