The first volume of the Star Wars: Clone Wars microseries has been announced for DVD release on March 22nd, 2005. The animated series, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky of Samurai Jack fame, consists of 19 3-minute long episodes plus a 5-minute finale. The day before the DVD comes out, the Cartoon Network will premiere the first of a whole new season of Clone Wars episodes. No DVD special features have been announced as of yet, but this could be the deciding factor in whether many people buy it. From the episodes that I’ve seen, the art style is cool but 3 minutes is just not long enough to tell any kind of story. On a related note, Star Wars Clone Wars figures are coming out this spring and they look pretty decent.
