Online Shopping Helps Niche Products Find Their Audience
I recently stumbled across an article about Amazon.com and how it is changing the economics and marketing of media in general. In the past, our culture has been driven by “hits”, that is, big blockbuster movies and bestselling novels that everyone wants… or at least think they do. But Amazon and other online retailers are proving that more and more people actually have an interest in less mainstream, niche products. The only reason they never bought them before is because they didn’t have access to them. Check it out, a very interesting (and optimistic) read.
