The other day I was listening to the album “Social Life” and I began to wonder what Koufax are currently up to. Koufax went from being a big buzz band touring with the Get Up Kids and (even more impressive, if you ask me) the only Vagrant band ever to get a positive review from Pitchfork Media, to being nobodies. As Chian pointed out to me a while back, they are no longer listed on the band roster on the Vagrant website which might lead one to believe they had been unceremoniously dumped by the label. Not surprising really, considering that they don’t fit into the label’s cookie cutter image and sound. Anyways, a visit to Koufax’s own website offers some reassurance that they are still alive and kicking. They claim a new album will be finished recording in mid-December and even offer up a brand new MP3 as proof.
