Mott. He prefers the remake over the original, and says he always falls asleep trying to watch the original. I prefer the remake because the technical level of filmmaking is higher. I saw the original Dawn just a few months ago and loved it. It might be my favorite zombie movie. This remake doesn't hold a candle to it. the only good qualities are the performances of Ving Rhames and Sarah Polley. Everything else seemed very dumbed down. like a show on MTV. There was no attempt to comment on commercialism like the original, even though they are still in a mall. There is little intrigue, the movie just goes out of its way to shock us with stupid gore and violence prompted by lame unwarranted character turns. The cameras are indeed on the people too much, and there is not enough exploration of the nature if the zombies. It saddens me to see so many positive reviews of this film around the web.
